This was a really fun project working with Blockworks from the UK for InnoEnergy Institute that involved two parts for me: Minecraft lesson plans and website design.

Lesson plans

Since I didn’t know how long the lesson content would be, I designed the lesson templates in Microsoft Word, using Minecraft icons I’d created by taking screenshots and removing the background. I also used texture renders provided by Blockworks to add visual interest to the lessons. As this was a project for InnoEnergy, the templates feature InnoEnergy branding instead of Minecraft branding. Our writer also came up with supplemental materials like worksheets, which I also designed in Microsoft Word. There were 11 lessons in total plus 3 supplemental materials in the form of worksheets/handouts.

Landing page

This was a website setup and design from scratch. The client provided the domain, SSL certificate, and hosting account credentials and I set up the website including:

• Theme
• Branding
• SEO
• Google Site Kit plugin
• Google analytics
• Google Search Console (sitemap submission)
• SSL installation
• Backup and security plugins
• Performance settings
• Contact form
• And all the little things needed to launch a new website

The purpose of the landing page is to provide information about the Minecraft lesson plans, so I wrote an intro for each lesson and included a preview image for each. I edited screenshots in Photoshop to make them brighter and more vibrant as Minecraft screenshots tend to be dark and a little bit dull color-wise. Check out the landing page preview below!
